 Just a small lie is good enough to ruin a potentially beautiful relationship.  Saying you’re going to come home late as you have a meeting, office work, etc. and instead you go and play a game or two of poker with your friends could lead to disastrous repercussions once the wife finds out.  She wouldn’t care much for the lie that you’ve told, but it would dwindle the trust flame in your relationship as her mind would wander every time you decide to stay out late.  She may wonder what else you could be lying about and this could lead to her not trusting you.

Reliability

Make sure you stay true to the promises you make, be it big or small.  Reliability and trust go hand in hand.  You should stick to what you say. If you’ve told your husband that you’re going to do something at a particular time on a particular day, make sure you do it. Reliability is a major step in the building of a trust worthy relationship.

Set Boundaries

You should set boundaries with your loved ones, especially with those outside your marriage/relationship.  If boundaries or limits are not set, then jealousy plays a big hand in tearing couples apart. Make sure you make your loved one feel that he or she takes precedence over everyone else.

Do not crucify and accuse your loved one for cheating or betraying you unless you have evidence to support your claims.  Without proper proof, you’ll just create a dark cloud of mistrust that may prove very hard to get rid of.  You must take your spouse’s word for whatever she or he may tell you; have faith.
